Red squares and red hearts ♥ / Piros négyzetek, piros szívek ♥

 

 

 

It all began with a phone call when my friend told me that they are going to change my goddaughter's, Hanna's crib to a bed. That's right, a big 2 and a half years old needs a bigger bed as well! :) The new bed has arrived and my friend asked me if I could make a bed cover quilt and a wall hanging as well.. We have discussed that she wanted red colours and hearts but other than that she trusted my creativity.. As we hang up the phone, I already started planning..

Of course it took quite a long time to get ready with it, and I must confess that the wall hanging is still on the way..but better later then never, right?

I used some of my scraps and some Moda Bonnie and Camille Hello Darling fabrics for the quilt. (The binding is also made from this collection and of course I have purchased it in my favourite local fabric shop, Stoffsalat.)

The quilt measures about 80 x 160 cm (31 x 61 inches).

I definitely wanted to make a matching pillow as well and as I have appliquéd hearts on the quilt, the heart pattern was given. I have sewn together the little scraps and appliquéd in a heart form onto the white pillow fabric.

I think at the end I even liked the pillow more than the quilt itself... :)

After taking more than enough photos of them, I wrapped them up, sent them off, and now they are laying proudly on their little owner's bed... :)

Az egész úgy kezdődött, hogy a barátnőm felhívott és  elújságolta, lecserélik Hanna keresztlányom kiságyát. Így is van, egy nagy 2 és fél évesnek már nagyobb ágy is jár! :) Az új ágy már meg is érkezett és a barátnőm megkérdezte, hogy készítenék-e hozzá egy ágytakarót, illetve ágyvédőt.. Megbeszéltük, hogy piros árnyalatokat és szíveket képzelt el, de a többit tulajdonképpen rám bízza.  Amint letettük a telefont, már neki is álltam a tervezésnek...

Persze a megvalósítás kissé váratott magára, és bevallom az ágyvédő sajnos még mindig nem készült el, de ami általában nálam késik, az nem múlik..

A takaróhoz különböző maradék anyagokat, illetve néhányat Moda Bonnie és Camille Hello Darling kollekciójából használtam fel. (A szegély is ebből készült és természetesen a kedvenc, itteni, Stoffsalat boltomban szereztem be.)

Az ágytakaró mérete kb. 80 x 160 cm.

Mindenképp szerettem volna még egy hozzá illő párnát is készíteni, és mivel szíveket applikáltam a takaróra, a szív minta adott volt. Apró maradék anyagdarabokat varrtam össze és applikáltam szív formában a fehér párnaanyagra.

Azt hiszem, a végén még jobban is tetszett, mint maga a takaró... :)

Miután több, mint elég képet készítettem róluk, becsomagoltam, feladtam őket és most már ott büszkélkednek kis tulajdonosuk ágyikóján.. :)

If you follow me on Instagram or on Facebook, you might have seen that I am taking part in a really fun swap game.. I already told you that I am a big fan of Amy Sinibaldi, the author of the Nanacompany blog and designer of the Paperie collection.

And, of course I am not the only one.. :) Faith, who also loves Amy's style, has organised a swap on Instagram.. She picked pairs from the participants (according to their sewing skill level) and the partners are making each other a main and some smaller items in Nanacompany style.. This style includes everything cute, tiny, detailed, lacey, sweet, modern etc... Just look at Amy's blog and you will understand.. :)

So, my partner is Terri from the US and my main item for her is a pillow, where I have used her favourite Paperie print as well. I also made a tiny pincushion with the same fabrics and pattern.. It measures about 10 x 10 cm (4 x 4 inches)..The trim is made of the fabric itself.. Aren't those mushrooms incredibly sweet?? :)

The pillow will measure about 35 x 35 cm (13 x 13 inches), but I will only show more pictures about it when Terri already received it..

There will be some more cute stuff in the package but more about it later..

I hope she will like them.. Honestly, I am also very excited what she is about to make and I promise I will show it here too!

Sometimes this cyber world is pretty amazing, isn't it?  :)

Ha követtek az Instagramon vagy Facebookon, akkor láthattátok, hogy részt veszek egy nagyon jópofa cserejátékban.. Már írtam nektek, hogy nagy rajongója vagyok Amy Sinibaldinak, a Nanacompany blog  szerzőjének és egyben a Paperie anyagok megálmodójának..

Nos, mindezzel nem vagyok egyedül.. :) Faith, aki szintén nagyon szereti Amy stílusát, meghirdetett egy játékot az Instagramon.. A jelentkezőket ismeretlenül összepárosította (hasonló varró tudás alapján) és a párok egy fő és néhány kisebb meglepetést készítenek egymásnak Nanacompany stílusban.. Ez a stílus mindent magába foglal, ami cuki, apró, igényes, részletgazdag, csipkés, címkés, édes, modern és még sorolhatnám... Csak nézzétek meg Amy blogját és megértitek :)  

Szóval, nekem Terri, egy amerikai lány a párom és a fő ajándékom egy párna lesz, amihez a kedvenc Paperie anyagát is felhasználom. Mellé készült még egy mini tűpárna is ugyanolyan anyagokból és mintával.. Az egész 10 x 10 cm.. A címke magából az anyagból készült.. Hát nem cukik azok a kis gombák?? :)

A párna kb 35 x 35 cm lesz, de arról majd csak akkor mutatok képeket, ha már Terri megkapta..

Lesz majd még egy-két apróság a csomagban, de ezekről is majd csak később..

Remélem, hogy tetszeni fognak neki.. Bevallom, nagyon kíváncsi vagyok, hogy nála mi készül és megígérem, hogy majd itt is megmutatom!

Néha hihetetlen, hogy mire képes az internet világa... :)
